03 / About

I didn't start out in software. I qualified as a vet, taught myself to code, and worked my way into backend engineering on payment systems at Indicina and Afriex. The part I liked most was working out what had actually gone wrong for someone and explaining it to them in plain language.

I moved to Ireland to put proper foundations under that, and I'm finishing a Higher Diploma in Computing at NCI. Where I want to go next is cloud: designing and supporting the infrastructure other people rely on, where troubleshooting and talking to people are the job.

I'd rather build systems that matter to a lot of people than chase whatever is newest. I'm based in Dublin and plan to build my career here.
